Description:THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE CLEARANCE OF SECRET OR TOP SECRET
Perform duties as the Facility Security Officer (FSO) for a manufacturing and engineering company. The FSO is responsible for all industrial security efforts of the facility and responsible for ensuring ArmorWorks operates in full compliance with the National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM). Responsibilities include managing all functions of the defense industrial security program, i.e. physical security, knowledge of classified cybersecurity, visitor control, security clearance processing, document control, classification management, contract security specification administration, COMSEC operations, security education and awareness, assisting with investigations, asset protection, access control, etc. Ensure compliance with company and government security regulations. Formulate security policy and procedures. Address and solve security problems with all levels of employees and customer representatives

Participate and/or lead enterprise self-inspections and other assessments such as the Defense Security Service Security Vulnerability Assessments and all other internal audits and inspections related to security and compliance. Handle additional tasks as assigned by management.
Duties:• Prepare policies, processes, procedures and manuals for creating, handling, and storing classified material
• Maintain the Facility Clearance and ensure the Facility is prepared for annual DSS Security Vulnerability Assessments
• Understand contracts, statement(s) of work and task orders to determine security requirements and provide security advice and guidance to Program Management
• Direct the implementation of the contractual security requirements
• Develop and administer security programs and procedures for classified or sensitive materials, documents and equipment
• Ensure the following actions are performed in accordance with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other applicable government requirements
• Physical security as related to closed areas, access control, and other security considerations
• Provide proper security guidance to employees, suppliers, contractors and agents
• Manage and safeguard all classified material in accordance with DoD regulations. This includes conducting self-inspections to ensure compliance with the NISP
• Provide initial security indoctrination briefings, debriefings, and annual refresher briefings along with courier briefings
• Interpret and implement the security guidelines of a Prime DD254. Draft and process Subcontractor DD254s
• Establish and maintain personnel security records and all related activities; Includes maintaining JPAS and SIMS; sending and receiving visit authorization requests (including ensuring employees can access Government work sites); processing clearances for new hires and periodic re-investigations as needed (working knowledge of e-Qip desired)
• Investigate security violations and prepare incident reports for DSS and government customers to include preventive actions
• Control and record keeping for all on-site classified and sensitive materials
• Design and conduct security education classes for all ArmorWorks employees, consultants and agents
• Interface with internal and external customers to design and implement security systems and practices for current and emerging programs, products and technologies
• Assist the executive team with other duties related to industrial and physical security
• Conduct investigations as required and perform root cause/corrective action to reduce the risk of further violations
Qualifications:• A current Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance if required
• Ability to work in a team environment and help all employees understand and comply with regulatory requirements
• Must be a self-driven and results oriented leader capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently across a diverse program landscape
• Able to handle multiple priorities under strict deadlines
• The candidate should possess the ability to manage complex tasks, recommend, implement, and plan process improvements, enhancements and changes to systems, including management of operating procedures, policies and standards relating to current and emerging technologies
• Minimum of 5 years’ (10 years desired) of FSO experience working for a manufacturing/engineering firm that performed classified work for the Department of Defense (DoD)
• Must have a working knowledge of the NISPOM, NIST 800-171, and other related security regulations
• Must be detail oriented with exceptional organizational, communications and interpersonal skills
• Able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments concurrently
• Currently possess or be able to obtain FSO certification within six (6) months of employment
• Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Criminal Justice preferred. Past experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree
